1 static ip 1 dedicated server with multiple vps servers

I've a small doubt can we run morethan 20 vps servers on a single dedicated server with 1 static ip?

Is xen hypervisor best for production servers?

and what are the other hardware based virtualization opensource software?

I would recommend http://wiki.openvz.org/Main_Page

It's very light and gives you native speeds (really!) but you can only offer VPSs if they're the same OS as the Host OS.
