Postfix mail server is broken on Ubuntu Linux Server

Why is this showing up in the logs on a new install of Postfix on Ubuntu Linux Server ?

(Host or domain name not found. Name service error for name=domain.com type=MX: Host not found, try again)

Check /etc/resolv.conf it looks like DNS lookups are failing.
