Apache on Windows vs Apache on Solaris

Are there any config differences ? I've used Apache on Solaris, and a bit on Linux, but no on Windows Server 2008.

Aside from the OS are there any performance differences etc ?

Thanks for any help.

Most of the configuration on Windows will be the same as for different platforms. The MPM used on windows is different to that used on Unix/Linux systems so that is where most of the differences will be. Modules that depend on external resources e.g. PHP will be installed and configured differently on windows.

As for performance I don't have a lot of information on that front. Best way to check this is to run some benchmark tests to see if performance on windows is acceptable.
