Testing and installing SysAid

What do i need to install before installing SysAid? I guess a web server is required but is there something else? Does SysAid works with XAMPP (for Windows)?

I am using the free version, and during the instalation there was no DB setup required. Is derby built in to in this free version? Do i need to install another DB Manager?
